Lagos, the space to share, create and stay balanced.

Lagos is ready for the summer! Are you ready to be healthier and more balanced?

After  months of travelling I have found a temporary home, where I am ready to get lots of action going! From researching and training in India, to volunteering in France and working in the UK, somehow, Lagos (Portugal) has caught my eye. With its welcoming locals, its small traditional streets and its delicious and affordable soups, it is the perfect spot for all Europe alike to come and reach its more adventurous and peaceful side.

Ever changing landscapes surround this small city, including one of the highest mountains in Portugal just 2 hours away;  one of the longest beaches in the Algarve and one of the warmest weathers in Portugal, it is the perfect spot for a quick break from stress and work. Not to mention endless possibilities to be adventurous, do water sports (surfing paradise just 1 hour away!) take part in learning something new, getting closer to nature through organic farming and just to heal and regenerate.

I would dare to say the locals make you feel you are in Latin-America with their warmth and their welcoming smiles. I would also dare say it is the "India of Europe" as I feel you can live its authenticity, and magic while having unlimited access to courses and sessions in yoga,  meditation, Ayurveda, Thai massage amongst other forms of healing and finding balance within ourselves.

Yet, I find it really bizarre that having been the home for CAEMT (school of traditional medicine) for more than 10 years, it is only in the last two years that it has become the new host for a wide range of therapists, creatives and alternative travellers alie. There is indeed a struggle to try and overcome its reputation as the  "Las Vegas" of Europe, where young travellers can come and be wild and break all boundaries, affecting the local life and those who enjoy harmony and culture.

So it is now time to shout it out there, Lagos and the Algarve are not just about affordable alcohol, beaches and sun, but it is also a hidden treasure that can offer endless possibilities to those who care about their health, nature and their overall well-being. Not only that, but with reasonably affordable accommodation, and its unbelievably economical options during the winter months (which do not feel like winter at all)  it is affordable and well worth the money! Because Lagos has alternative opportunities to offer, come and enjoy it after only 2 hours away from Faro Airport and 4 hours from Lisbon.

We are now ready to put on our yoga and dancing gear to connect the whole of Europe from this small bit of paradise where you can access culture, health and alternative healing spots. We invite you to be part of it, regenerate and become healthier and more creative! At the Body Room, a studio where everything is possible, we are now happy to offer opportunities for Culture, Arts and Well-being to become one. This is a chance for sharing and creating with like minded people and the curious alike with our Arts and Crafts sessions, Capo-Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Afro-Latin Dance. So disconnect, take your ticket and fly/sail, or if you live locally, just get up from the couch, and lets get those hips moving!
